The term acne is used for clogged pores which ultimately turn into whiteheads,

Papule
This is a very small but solid bump rising above the skin surface. They are sometimes too small to see with naked eyes, but give the feeling of sand paper when touched.
Pustule
Containing pus of dead skin cells, pustule is a larger raised bump having white blood cells and bacteria. This can be healed easily with acne treatment.
Macule
This is nothing but a cured spot of red color by acne. It is often short-lived and disappears within a few weeks.
Cyst
These are also raised bumps having skin cells which are dead. They also contain white blood cells and bacteria. Cyst is pain full and leaves a scar. It extends deep down into the skin and is usually inflamed. Its should be treated under the supervision of a specialist.
